Presentation: Australian Independent Wine Sector - Marketing Challenges
My team made a presentation about Australian Independent Wine Sector during our Marketing class. This 10 minutes presentation followed our indepth study and report about this sector which was finished last week. Brief of this presentation was to describe in 10 minutes, 5 marketing challenges facing this sector and how different companies are addressing these challenges.
We noticed that 5 marketing challenges were:
These five challenges were described and addressed in this presentation in a professional and timely manner and feedback was quite positive. People really enjoyed the ease, thoroughness and depth of our presentation.
Scott and I presented the material while Akiko, Siobhan and Anna took the duties of administration. They distributed wine, brochures and setup the presentation. It was a great team effort. We all missed Will Carroll as he was away in Perth on an office trip, but he was instrumental in integrating the report, research and providing ideas about presentation just like all of us.
This is why I think this was a great presentation by a great team.

- Selecting your distribution channels so they increase brand equity
- Capturing value from consumers (Pricing)
- Integrated market communication mix

Obama's election win and American students at MBS
Obama's election victory was much celebrated by my fellow MBS students and in particular the American students. Interestingly not a single person was unhappy about this outcome. Apart from Obama's refined and articulate personality and charisma, the incumbent government's apathy towards American civil values, fragile leadership and catastrophic managment of everything from economy to foreign policy had all contributed to the success of Mr. Obama.
Although Obama has given the message of hope and "Yes, we can!" but American public and all of us, the citizens of the world will be watching with hope that Obama adopts policies which bring peace and prosperity to the world and not just to the American public.

Managerial Economics Mid Term Today
I have the Mid Term examination for the subject of Managerial Economics today. This is an interesting subject rich in providing utility but not so rich so far in giving away solid marks. So far in homework I have suffered from not thinking like an economist problem. Also I think I understand all the concepts and my added value should be higher than the WTP I am getting.
Perhaps its time for some more practice and go into the exam with a clear mind and stomach full of coffee.
Let's see how I do in the exam.

Term 3 2008 has started
This is the first week of Term 3 2008 at MBS. This is my 2nd term at MBS. In the first term I managed to complete 3 subjects and got a credit for Accounting.
This term I am studying Marketing and Managerial Economics subjects. Both Patrick Butler and Michael Ryall have good teaching style and I am looking forward for a good learning experience in this term as well.
This weekend I have to finish Marketing and Managerial Economics home work by Sunday.

Results for my first term at MBS (Term 2, 2008)
The results are out and as I was expecting I easily passed both the subjects. Infact I got identicle scores in both Managing and Leading People for High Performance and Data and Decisions.
I think both subject were quite interesting and Instructors Dr. Ian Williamson and Dr. Chris Lloyd both were outstanding. The subject material and delivery was great and I learned a lot of new ideas from both classes.
